Help Welcome Our New Brothers

Spring Ordeal, May 1-3, Fort Belvoir

Colonial Chapter's Spring Ordeal is just around the corner, Friday, May 1 through Sunday, May 3, at Fort Belvoir's Outdoor Recreation Area.
Troops and Teams have already elected 75 candidates and tonight and tomorrow night will see four more elections.
We need all Arrowmen on deck to assist in inducting these candidates into the Order and our Lodge. There are many ways to contribute--serving as an Elangomat, working on Cook Crew, helping with registration and orientation, leading service projects. If you're able to attend, please contact Ordealmaster Max Barrett or Chapter Adviser Chris Marston (703-627-4679).
The cost is $30 to cover camping and food. No charge for Elangomats.

Ceremonies Retreat & Brotherhood Ceremony

April 24-26, Camp Snyder

The Ceremonies Team is hosting a retreat open to all Chapter Members, which will include a deeper look at the meaning of our ceremonies, plenty of time for fellowship, and a Brotherhood Ceremony for those ready to seal their membership. Camping will be in cabins at Camp Snyder. Cost for the weekend is $30.
You can get more details or make reservations for the weekend with Christian Wesbrock, Vice-Chief for Ceremonies or Michael Martin (703-931-7937), Ceremonies Adviser.
If you'd like to participate in the Brotherhood Ceremony, please contact Mark Greenlaw, Vice-Chief for Brotherhood. If you're not able to attend for the whole weekend, but would still like to participate in the Brotherhood Ceremony, you can arrive early Saturday evening and return home that night or first thing Sunday. You can also contact Chapter Adviser Chris Marston (703-627-4679). There's no cost to participate in the Brotherhood Ceremony. We'll just ask that you contribute to cover the cost of dinner on Saturday.

How do I seal my membership in the Brotherhood and get those two red stripes on my sash?
Sealing your membership is the last step in your induction to the Order of the Arrow. If you have been a member of the Order for 10 months, have learned our obligation, song, and other traditions, and gained a thorough understanding or the Ordeal, you are eligible to participate in the Brotherhood Ceremony. The April 24 Ceremonies Retreat is a great time to gain that thorough understanding of the Ordeal and to participate in the Ceremony. If you need help with other requirements, ask any of your Brother Arrowmen for help, or visit Jumpstart for New Arrowmen.
