Sam Markle represents Scouting at Earth Day 2015 Concert on the Mall

Colonial District's own Sam Markle was asked to accompany Mr. Scott Teare, Secretary General of the World Scouting Organization to the stage of the Earth Day 2015 Concert on the Mall here in Washington DC on the 18th of April.  He was told by the General Council for the World Scouting Organization, Mr. Peter Illig, that he was “representing not only all scouts in the US, but also around the world… no pressure.”  All in good fun.  5 minutes of fame in front of an audience of about 300,000 people and broadcast around the world.  He met and had pictures taken with a quite few celebrities as well.  People kept coming up to Sam asking if they could take a picture with him, and then asking his dad, Stephen Markle if he'd do it.  That's awesome!  Proud of you Sam and thanks for representing us all well!

Oh, and he also had 2 goals and an assist that morning at his Lacrosse Game, which they won 6-5.  Not too shabby of a day!
